Candour Private Business Counsel
What could you build if you could see clearly?
You have built something real. You know your business better than anyone. The clarity you are looking for is already in you — it just needs the conditions to surface. When you are deep in the doing, it is hard to see the building. That is not a failing. It is what happens when you care about the work.
WHAT IT IS
A PRIVATE
THINKING
PARTNER
Not Coaching
No pre-built programme. No homework. The agenda is always yours. You bring what is live. The arc — not just the moment — is held for you.
Not Consulting
No deliverables. No decks. If the work calls for something bigger, we bring in the wider team
Not a Hotline
This is a relationship, not a resource. Its value is in the continuity — what is remembered, what has changed, the question that could only be asked at month six.
Everyone around you - your team, your accountant, the people closest to you - has a stake in what you decide. There is no one to think out loud with who has nothing to protect.
This is a space where you can think clearly about your business, and about the version of it you actually want.
WHO THIS IS FOR
DEFINED BY
A FEELING,
NOT A NUMBER
Not defined by industry, revenue, or how long the business has been running. Defined by a feeling — of being deep in the work, full of potential, and not quite enough room to use it.
01
You are good at what you do, and you built a business around it. The craft or the service is the thing — not the idea of being a business owner.
02
You spend most of your time working in the business. You know something has to shift — not to grow for growth's sake, but because you can feel the gap between where you are and what you are capable of.
03
You carry most of the decisions alone. Everyone around you has a stake in what you decide. There is no one to think out loud with who has no agenda.
04
You want to remain an active, healthy participant in your work, the people you love, and the communities you belong to. Not just consumed by your business.
05
You may feel clear on where you are going — or you may not. Either way, having somewhere honest to think would change how you move.
HOW IT WORKS
STRUCTURED
AT THE START.
FREE-FLOWING
FROM THERE
Every relationship begins with a Foundation Block — three sessions that create an honest, shared picture of your business and what you want from it.
After that, the relationship is guided entirely by what you need. No fixed format, no imposed agenda. Just a regular conversation with someone who remembers where you started.
TO BEGIN
FOUNDATION BLOCK — 3 SESSIONS
Three sessions, clear scope, defined outcome. You leave with an honest, articulated picture of your business — what it is, why it exists, where you want to take it, and what needs to be true for that to happen. Written in your words. Held in your record.
Fixed scope · $3,000–$3,500 AUD
ONGOING
NAVIGATION — QUARTERLY ROLLING
Regular sessions at a cadence that suits how you think. The agenda is always yours. The arc is held — what you said six months ago, what has since shifted, what you haven't quite named yet.
Monthly rolling · $1,500–$1,800 AUD/month · no annual lock-in
WEEKLY
30–45 min
Close to what is happening now
FORTNIGHTLY
60 min
Time to act, space to reflect
MONTHLY
75–90 min
Longer arcs, more distance
HOW IT WORKS
THE VALUE IS
WHAT ACCUMULATES
After each session you receive a clean, readable summary — what shifted, what you are taking away. A year in, you can read back where you were.
CLARITY
Not handed to you. Arrived at by you. The thinking that was stuck becomes unstuck — because you had the space and the right questions.
CONTINUITY
Someone who holds the arc. Who remembers what you said eight months ago. Who notices the pattern you cannot see because you are inside it.
HONESTY
Somewhere you do not have to manage how you are perceived. No performance required. Most people have not had that in a business context before.
A RECORD
Your articulations, your decisions, your arc. Something that makes the distance you have travelled legible, even when you are too close to see it.

Is this really for a business my size?
Yes. The need for a thinking partner is not proportional to revenue or headcount — it is proportional to how much you are carrying, and how alone you are carrying it. The business could be brand new or ten years old.
Is this mentoring or coaching?
Neither, exactly. The closest honest description is a private thinking partnership — a fractional sounding board for a business too small for its own advisory board. No preset programme. No single answer applied the same way to everyone.
Is it worth the investment right now?
Cognitive overload has a cost. The decisions not made, the opportunities not seen, the time spent cycling through the same unresolved questions — those are not free. The question is not whether you can afford this. It is what you are paying to not have it.
Do I have to do the Foundation Block?
Yes. Every relationship starts there. It creates the shared reference point that makes everything after it useful. Most people find it unexpectedly valuable in its own right.
Is this confidential?
Completely. What is said in this relationship stays in this relationship. That is not a marketing assurance — it is the only way the work can happen honestly.
What if my needs grow beyond this?
Candour is offered through Immensity of the Sea, which also works with business owners on full operational consulting. If the work points in that direction, the conversation happens naturally — it is never a sales moment.
Is this only for women?
No. Both men and women work with Candour. The work tends to resonate particularly strongly with women business owners, who often carry an additional layer of isolation — but the offer is open to anyone it is right for.
